You can now pay your Eskom account at thousands of convenient payment points nationally. You no longer have to make a special trip to the Eskom Walk-In Centre. Our payment points and agencies are located close to where you work and shop. Or for maximum convenience, make use of Internet payments or Debit Orders through your Bank.
Bill Payments can be made at any banking branch of ABSA, FNB, Nedbank or Standard Bank. A customer can make a payment through EFT at any financial institution and pay the money into an Eskom bank account.
Bill Payments can be made in cash, credit card or cheque at Pick ‘n Pay Regional and Mini markets, Supermarkets, Hyperamas, Family stores as well as Foodworld and Saveworld. All that is required is to that you take your account with you and ensure that you obtain a payment slip as proof of payment. Payments made via third party agents will take up to two days to reach our Billing Department, so remember to allow for this. An agreement for the vending of Prepaid electricity tokens is currently being negotiated with these stores, and will be implemented shortly at selected sites. South African Post Office
Payments can be made at any SAPO branch with online facilities. If customers use offline sites we cannot guarantee that payments will arrive at Eskom in time and can therefore not be held accountable if supplies are disconnected for non-payment. All that is required is to that you take your account with you and ensure that you obtain a payment slip as proof of payment. The service is free, and you will incur no additional charges or levies. Payments made via third party agents will take up to two days to reach our Billing Department, so remember to allow for this.
Eskom Walk In Centres
Payments can be effected at any Eskom office that has receipting capabilities. As our strategy to make alternative, more convenient payment options available unfolds, a number of Eskom sites that receive payments are being closed.
In some instances Eskom use collection agents that receive payments on behalf of Eskom.
The Smartec terminals that are currently installed in 4 Eskom WIC offices can be used to pay electricity accounts and are a quick electronic mechanism that assists customers in the payment process. They also allow customers to pay other accounts eg Telkom, provided they are registered on the equipment.
There are three Account Operations processing centres in the country that are mainly used for cheque processing. Customers can forward cheque payments of their electricity accounts to any one of the three centres.
Debit Order System
Eskom offers the option for customers to sign debit orders for individual accounts or for debit order group accounts that allow customers to combine individual accounts into a logical group. Payments are automatically deducted on due date and limit controls can be build in by customers to manage this effectively. We encourage our customers to make use of Debit Orders, as this option offers you control over your monthly payments, as well as peace of mind that your account is being paid timeously, thus avoiding the risk of disconnection.
Telephonic Credit Card payments can also be made at any one of our seven Contact Centres. Please note that we are unable to accept Credit Card payments in excess of R5000.
Credit card payments can also be made on the Internet on the EasyPay site. Visit http://www.easypay.co.za for more details. Please note that we are unable to accept credit card transactions that exceed R5000. Alternatively, you can use your Bank’s Internet payment facilities to pay your Eskom account.
